Alibaba Cloud's model family, mostly open-weight but topped by a closed flagship: Qwen3.8-Max (a 2.4-trillion-parameter mixture-of-experts model, released August 2026) is cloud-API-only, while Qwen3.8-Flash and earlier Qwen3.x generations remain open-weight and are widely used for self-hosting.
