Rivian buys Third Dimension AI to build driving simulations
Rivian has acquired Third Dimension AI, which turns real-world data into controllable 3D environments for recreating driving scenarios; terms were not disclosed. Rivian says its autonomy models can then rehearse rare conditions without waiting for them on the road. It is another sign that simulated training data is becoming something AI teams buy rather than build.
